Understanding what little I do about scientific method and measurement, I’ve always had a healthy skepticism for claims predicting the behavior of chaotic systems like climate and weather.
Measuring things is tricky business. Just imagine hundreds of measurements stations of different brands scattered all over the world in various locations each being operated by a different individual.
Just off the top of your head, do you think that the measurements will be consistent across the entire world? The mere fact that some individuals are taller than others can bias measurements (reading a thermometer from a higher angle can make the temperature look lower and vice versa).
